Terms of Use
Last updated 28 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Notesnap (notesnap.net). By creating an account or using Notesnap, you agree to them. They're written to be read, so they're short.
The short version
- Notesnap is free while it's in early access.
- Your notes, summaries and quizzes stay yours.
- Summaries and quizzes are written by AI: check them before you send them.
- Only add students and parents you have permission to contact.
The service
Notesnap reads the lesson notes you choose from OneNote, Google Drive, Notion or a PDF, and writes a summary for parents and a quiz for the student, which you can send by email. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Notesnap is in early access and is currently free. We'll always give you notice before introducing any charges, and you'll never be charged without agreeing to it first.
Your account
You need to be at least 18, or using Notesnap as a tutor with a parent's or employer's permission, to create an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself: you're responsible for what happens in your account.
Your content
Your notes, the summaries and quizzes made from them, and your students' details belong to you. You give Notesnap permission to use them only as needed to run the service for you: reading the notes you pick, writing summaries and quizzes, storing them, and sending the emails you ask it to send.
Students and parents
You're responsible for the student and parent details you add. Only add people you teach, or whose parents you work with, and only use Notesnap to send them lesson summaries and quizzes. Don't send anything a parent or student hasn't agreed to receive.
AI-written content
Summaries and quizzes are written by AI from your notes. They're usually accurate, but the AI can misread handwriting or get an answer wrong. Read each summary and quiz before you send it; you're responsible for what you send.
Fair use
To keep Notesnap fast and free for everyone, there are daily limits on AI generations and emails per account. They're well above what a busy day of tutoring needs. If you hit one, email hello@notesnap.netand we'll help.
Please don't:
- use Notesnap to send spam, or anything misleading, abusive or unlawful;
- try to access other tutors' accounts or data, or get around the daily limits;
- overload, attack or copy the service.
We may suspend accounts that do, and will tell you why.
Other services
Notesnap connects to Microsoft OneNote, Google Drive and Notion, and depends on them being available. Your use of those services is covered by their own terms.
Availability and liability
We work hard to keep Notesnap running and your data safe, but as an early-access service it's provided “as is”, and there may be interruptions. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, such as lost time or business, from using Notesnap.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other rights that can't legally be excluded.
Ending your account
You can stop using Notesnap at any time, and ask us to delete your account and data by emailing hello@notesnap.net. We may close accounts that break these terms, after letting you know.
Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Questions? Email hello@notesnap.net.
